Brett Ervin-Class of 2010

Brett Ervin is a 6-5 forward who was a sophomore last year at Eden Prairie in Minnesota. Plays AAU with 43 16U elite and is getting a lot of initial notice. Some of the schools that like him the most are WSU, Iowa State and Northern Iowa.

In Minnesota he is recognized as a quality big man sophomore who has a nice touch out to 16 feet.

In what I find to be a bit surprising news, Ervin has reportedly committed to Elon.

Upon further review, I'm confused. They list this Brett Ervin in the article as being from WV but everything else says he's from MN. So there may be another Brett Ervin from WV that has been mixed up, or that could have been a typo.

We are interested in a class of '10 Bret Ervin. The Ervin that committed to Elon in mid-September is in the class of 2009 and is 6-7, not 6-5.

I thought it was odd, but was under his page so was completely confused by it.

I guess because of the name thing it got linked under his name by mistake. When I clicked on the name in the article it took me to the MN Ervin. Yet, the MN Ervin's page didn't show a committed status.

At least this means we still have a shot now.

Ervin is currently being pursued by Wichita State, Oregon State, Northern Iowa, North Dakota State and Valparaiso.

He averaged 9.5 points per game as a sophomore, scoring in double figures in 15 times.

"I get calls from time to time. It is kind of early to think about that right now. I am excited for the start of the season and for more schools to start recruiting me."

He didn't get to participate much in Fall open gyms as he is also a standout WR on the football team. They just had a 39 game winning streak snapped.

He is a teammate of Creighton signee Ethan Wragge, Class of '09.

Ervin scored 8 points in season opener. Davidson and Wichita State named as two schools most interested in Ervin.

Brett Ervin, Eden Prairie, junior - Ervin scored several of his points inside and he does an outstanding job of using leverage to clear space, and than finish with quick moves and a soft touch.

Ervin is averaging 14.1 ppg for the year, has scored in double figures 17 of 22 games and has 2 over 20 pts.

"Northern Iowa, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Wichita State, Oregon State, Iowa State now, Iowa, Valpariaso, they are recruiting me now."

Will play for 43 Hoops again this summer in AAU.
