  • Jordan Hulls

Jordan is a 6-0 point guard at Bloomington (South), Indiana. Class of 2009. Going into the Jam Fest at Pittsburgh, he had offers from Evansville, Ohio, Toledo, Western Michigan and Vermont. He outplayed John Wall at that tournament who is regarded as the best point guard in the 2009 class. His recruitment of course blew up. Duke, Indiana and Purdue are interested.

http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/blog.html Scroll down near the bottom of the page.

He has already taken an unofficial to Indiana and spent a couple of hours with Tom Crean. But his life time dream is playing for Duke. Duke, Indiana and Purdue are very interested but no offers as of yet.

We have received information from a reliable inside source that the Shockers are also impressed and have definitely offered.

No stars given to Jordan yet by Rivals but I'm sure he will have several before long.

Playing for Indiana Elite, Hulls was named to the Jayhawk Invitational All Tournament Team. Scout describes him as a hard nosed guard who plays hard. He also is hitting a bunch of 3s. Scout currently has him as a 2 star.

Hulls is coming off a solid junior season at Bloomington South, leading Coach J.R. Holmes team in scoring (16.0) steals (2.2) and 3-pointers (52) while shooting 91 percent from the free-throw line. That success had helped him land offers from Evansville, Western Michigan, Toledo, Ohio, Vermont and Fairfield, but his recruitment may now be going to a whole new level.

Those sure aren't the Duke's of the world. No matter what anyone on here says, I'll pull a KC and say we have absolutely no shot at this kid if Duke is recruiting him.

But when you have the likes of those type of schools recruiting a kid, they usually don't look at the Wichita State's of the world.

It still depends on how much interest is really there. The Dukes of the world keep up contact with a lot of recruits. Some have legitimate chances of attending and others not as much. I've seen kids list KU as a school recruiting them when most at KU have no idea who the kid is. Someone's seen him. Thought there might be enough potential there to keep tabs on things. And then nothing ever happens.

We've landed kids and others have too that have had big named BcS schools on their list. So just because the list includes some of these schools doesn't mean we have no chance. You can look at Garrett Stutz for that.

I understand, but typically they don't come here. Paul Miller was an exception, only because of baseball. And Stutz kinda had that whole wait and see thing at Kentucky deter him.

The other thing that would worry me is this kid would be coming in here with his position more than covered for a couple of years, if not longer. WSU only has 1 or 2 scholarships to fill for next year, which means people aren't gonna be leaving and the playing time will be hard to come by. Of course it would at bigger schools too, but I wouldn't get all carried away on this guy.

We shouldn't get all carried away on anyone we're recruiting really. Unless they're local or something. Too many factors in recruiting. I just read it as you saying there was no hope because of a few schools on the list. Tonight when I have more time I could find more examples :D

Actually I did mean it as we had no hope. Hence my KC reference. I just don't see someone like that coming here, unless things drastically change next season.

Would you feel this way about any kid with some of those schools on his list or is it just this one? And is it just the "historic" schools or any BcS?

If Duke offers we don't have a chance because that's his lifetime dream. IMO it's still a just a dream as he has a lot more to prove to get Duke's offer.

IF Duke offers I agree. Until then, I'd hardly write him or anyone off.

There are a handful of schools that if they were recruiting a kid, I'd say cut our losses and look elsewhere. Duke, UCLA, UNC would all be on that list. Kentucky used to, but they really aren't anything to write home about anymore and we beat them out for a kid too. But it appears this kid really has his sights set on a "Big" school, so who knows how much our coaches are even thinking about him.
