. . . we are overlooking a bit.

Yes, his assists per game (6.8) are fantastic. But he also averaged nearly 4 turnovers per game. Could that be partly due to his teammate's inability to catch passes or finish around the basket? Sure, but it still makes you wonder how he'll fare against D1 defense as a starting PG. And at 27.3% 3FG, he won't get much time at SG.

This guy can play big time. Don't let the corn rows, tats and SO hair style fool you. He has a good attitude. If he has a problem playing the two (which I doubt) it would still free Hannah and Chamberlain for more time at the 2.

I've heard nothing but good things about his attitude this year. Whatever was bugging him at OU doesn't appear to have affected him this year. IIRC, he did have one of those life events that tends to make you mature in a hurry.

The kid can definitely play. I just wanted to point out there are aspects to his game that have the potential to drive fans nuts (turnovers and 3pt %). Of course, playing on a team with more scoring options and a better coaching staff should help minimize those other factors.

Tennessee may have also offered on Maze. Rumors are flying in Volunteer land that Sophomore guard Ramar Smith will be dismissed from the team, and that's why Maze may be getting an offer:

Scout says the three finalist are Cincinnati, Tennessee and Kentucky. All three have been to Kansas to see him and have offered. He wants to play right away and win a national championship. He will visit all three and then pick.

Seems to me that if you want to win a national championship then Tennessee is the pick, they should be mad salty next year...

I'm not so sure about the Championship odds but the playing time is there with Ramar Smith getting the boot. IMO Tennessee is the favorite.

Maze visited Cincinnati on Saturday and is in Knoxville today visiting with Tennessee. His official with Kentucky will be this weekend.

An interesting post on a Florida premium board yesterday says "The Vols won't know for sure until fall classes begin if juco point guard Bobby Maze made it in. It's going to be a close call even if he does make it and right now it's 50-50 at best..."

It would cost $ to get the rest. First rumor I've heard that his admissions is questionable.

Tennessee's DBO says Maze is, "very close, finishing what he has to get done (academically), and he'll be ready to enroll in the fall."

Maze has been officially admitted to Tennessee. He's all set to play this season.
