  • Andrew Gordon 6'10 C 2018 JUCO to West Virginia

We're not hosting just two athletes for visits this weekend, but three! Andrew Gordon is a 6'10 center from Clearwater, Florida that is playing Northwest Florida CC (Carl Harl's former school). He averaged 3.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game as a freshman at NFCC in 10 minutes per game. No offers to report currently, that I can find. Says he had offers from Arkansas, Memphis, Ole Miss, Rhode Island, Richmond, La Salle and FGCU as a high-school prospect. Rivals broke the news that WSU would have three recruits in-town this weekend. https://basketballrecruiting.rivals....fficial-visits

I saw that article earlier. I am curious about his current location though. Andrew is not listed on the NWFCC 2017-18 roster.

Seems like the size and athleticism are certainly there. Looks like he has pretty good hands and runs the floor well for a big man. Why was he only playing 10 minutes a game at NWFCC? Shot 75.4% from the field and 62.5% from the line so doesn't seem like he ventures very far from the rim on offense.

I wonder if this is an official visit or if he is visiting on his own dime.

AAU coach on Twitter said official visit. Also reported that he was getting interest from TCU and West Virginia.

Like the idea of gaining a big JUCO (or two) to round out our 2018 recruiting efforts. I am leaning toward Shaq Carter but trust the process.

Paul wrote an article about Andrew and says that he tore his anterior cruciate ligament so he's out for the season. Will have three years of D-1 eligibility. Baylor, South Florida, Houston, and Florida Gulf Coast are also involved.

              Here's the article.

Wow, he's a basketball neophyte. Starting to get the picture now.

I think the most impressive part of his highlight video is, with the exception of one, his team gained possession after every one of his blocked shots. That is a very underappreciated skill in the art of shot blocking.

" ... The newest name on that list is Northwest Florida State (Fla.) C.C. big man Andrew Gordon. The 6-foot-10 forward held offers from Memphis, Arkansas, Ole Miss and others in high school, but was forced to go to junior college. Since then, the Mountaineers have been hard after the talented prospect, and the efforts have paid off.

“He really enjoyed the visit,” said his former AAU coach and current mentor, Aaron Holmes. “His recruitment is really coming down to West Virginia, Oklahoma, Wichita State and UNLV.”

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'
