Wichita State offered 6'3 guard Jared Butler on Sunday. Jared is from Riverside, Louisiana and has flown under the radar of the major recruiting services for the most part. However, major schools are paying attention after his performances on the AAU circuit; he's received offers from Texas, Alabama, Illinois, Houston and UMass within the last month. Jared runs with the Mississippi Express on the Nike EYBL; averaging 15 points and 5 assists a game. His over 2/1 A:TO ratio is impressive for a summer league. Interesting that there is no mention of WSU in this interview with Rivals. WSU offered Jared just three weeks ago.

This is hard to really know from the outside. We may have backed off because other guards we covet more have given us good indications since the last report. I think we only have so many official visits we can legally give. I think that Butler will end up at Washington.

I saw him listed as a point guard and as a 2 guard. If we see him as a point guard, I can see us putting on a press.
