    Malik Hall 6'6 SF 2019 to Michigan State

    Figured it was time to get this guy his own thread. 6'6 small forward Malik Hall played at Sunrise last season and is playing with Mo-Kan elite this summer. Malik is originally from Chicago and has a good chance to end up as a fringe top-100 player once the 2019 rankings are expanded. WSU's interest in Malik hasn't been confirmed yet, but I'm sure the coaching staff is well aware of this kid. He currently has an offer from SLU and interest from Michigan State, Oregon, Wisconsin, Illinois, Northwestern and DePaul.

    Malik was one of the players that attended UC/WSU on Sunday. A conscenus Top-100 prospect in the 2019 class. I'm skeptical on the mutual interest level between Malik and WSU. I've seen numerous articles about Malik and haven't seen the Shockers mentioned in quite awhile.

          Don't believe WSU has invested much time or resources into recruiting Malik, but here are his final 5. One of the more hotly sought after recruits in Sunrise history.

            Not hard to see why a 6'6" guy would look at the roster and decide to go somewhere else. A PG can look at the roster and think there's a reason to come here.

              Agreed. There's a need for a PG on the roster, looking ahead. Unless the kid from N. Carolina is capable of full time duty at the point in the AAC.

              Exactly, SBT -- that "unless" in your comment is the reason there's a need for a PG, because no one knows yet whether Burton has that capability, and it seems unlikely that this season will produce much clarity on the subject with Torres and Haynes-Jones ahead of him. So as long as the commitment from Gordon holds up, the obvious place for potential playing time is at PG, not the wing.

              Any PG worth recruiting who's in the 6'1" - 6'3" range will have no doubt that he can beat out a 6'5" combo guard. If the 6'5" guy turns out to be the next Shamet, then it gets really interesting.
