So what did we learn from the first weekend of AAU? Not much for the class of 2019. Most of the coaches won't be out recruiting until next week or the weeks to follow and only a select amount of teams elected to play this weekend. Mario McKinney was the big winner off the Shocker list for the weekend. Everyone who attended Swish n Dish raved about Mario and he appears primed to raise his ranking this summer on the circuit. The Rivals guys think his recruitment will come down to Mizzou and Illinois, but WSU is definitely aware of this kid and may offer in the future. 7-foot Coloradoans Samba Kane and Assane Diouf we're also both in action. Samba seemed to be the more talked about prospect of the two but there's still a long ways to go for both of these guys.

Roman Wilson: Has only been playing basketball for a few years, but has already earned several Division I offers and has a high ceiling as a player. Possesses all the tools with long arms, explosive athleticism and a solid skill set as well as a willingness to bang in the post. Wilson is just scratching the surface of his potential. https://www.prephoops.com/2017/04/gr...kan-elite-17u/

Malik Hall (Sunrise 2019): Hall was in the Meanstreets program a year ago and attended Sunrise this past season where he was the leading scorer in a talented program. He is an athletic wing player that often played inside for Sunrise, but is more of a wing player than an interior player. He presents mismatch problems for opponents and lives on the baseline. https://www.prephoops.com/2017/04/gr...kan-elite-17u/

Assane Diouf: is an absolute animal on the defensive side of the ball. He clogs up the lane and blocks a lot of shots from the weak side. Diouf is still extremely raw on the offensive end but you can tell that he is coordinated and has decent hands. He is going to be one of the most sought out after big men in the class of 2019. https://www.prephoops.com/2017/04/pr...ers-day-2-16u/

His statistics at Nebrasketball we're pretty mediocre. This brings up a good point though. Who was the last guy that earned a scholarship while sitting during a transfer year? I know Peyton Allen, Frankamp, Armstead all paid their own way during the transfer year. Was it Gabe Blair?

Updated with the verbal commitment of DeAntoni Gordon. Surprising to get a commitment this early but looks like the coaches have been recruiting him hard since the fall.
