  • Grant Sherfield 6'2 G 2019 a Shocker!

The 2019 5-star PG out of Arlington, Texas apparently took an unofficial visit to WSU over the weekend. Other offers include KU, UCLA, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, New Mexico, SMU, Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and San Diego. It is unclear whether or not the Shockers have offered at this time.

He grew up in Wichita and still has friends and family in the area.

Thanks, lax -- who knows: maybe that'll give the Shockers the connection they need. Seems like he has some pretty heavy interest from / in the Republic of Texas.

Rivals released their top 75 for the 2019 class last week. Grant debuted at #28.

UCLA, TCU and Oklahoma State recruiting Grant the hardest. No mention of WSU in the article.

This article is a couple of weeks ago and OSU lost their coach just a few days ago.

That's a nice little turn of events. Has there been other indications of his continued interest in WSU since his unofficial visit 9 months ago. Has he listed any teams before? In other words, do we really have a chance?

He probably wants to go to a top-10, top-20 type team - Check
He probably wants to see availability of PT - Check
He probably wants a coach with an established record of putting PG's in the NBA - Check
He's spending his own money to check WSU out and talk to players - Check

I'd say it looks like we have a chance. This could come down to his attitude about playing D, whether he wants to go through the meat grinder that is WSU practices, and whether he fits Marshall's criteria (compare Fred VanVleet to Kelly Oubre for an example of fitting and not fitting Marshall's criteria).
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Hmm. Bama and UCLA? Are they an Adidas school? :)

Senior combo guard from Sunrise just released from his LOI from UCLA due to the Alford firing. Dude is good. Would love to see us make a run at him. He’s just down the street. C’mon.

Have we had a good player from Sunrise?

Too early to definitively place him in the good player category but wasn’t Poor-Bear at Sunrise?

I'd say Rauno was a good player, and he would have been better if he'd been able to redshirt as hoped.
