Reaves has high point totals of 73, 57, 56, 53 and 49 on the season. All of which came against higher classification schools.

He's got a lot of similarities in his game to Ron Baker. I'd take this kid in a heartbeat.

Needs a redshirt year with Rosenboom and then holy ****.

Looks more like a wing player with PG skills also which GM seems to like a lot. ME TOO !
Only negative I see is his shot release point beyond the arc which is a little low. Not worried
about weight as he is only a senior in HS. More like LS if you ask me.

It sounds like Cedar Ridge's opponent last night, Oxford, was running a triangle and two, using the two to double-team Reaves.

Just curious about what some of you guys think and why. If you had a choice between this kid and the Ottey kid from Canada, who do you go with and why?

Nicholas Mason ‏@_Nick5000 Iowa State is now showing interest in Austin Reaves.

Looks like we're not the only ones.

Dunno. I'd lean towards this kid, recency bias and all haha. Would be a matchup nightmare in the Valley and beyond.

I think I probably agree with you, although I kind of like the idea that Ottey is (apparently) choosing between us and VCU, two places that are revered for their toughness, tenacity, and defensive intensity. That and he's just so damn athletic. Tough call.

Yes I know "revered" may be a bit strong, but I couldn't come up with a better descriptive term.

Should be used more often. Hah.

I see what you're saying about Ottey, but at the same time, we wouldn't be after/offer Reaves if he wasn't a good fit. Our coaches will make the best decision they can. Another student section idea if Ottey comes though:

Would he ever be comfortable passing the ball and playing team ball in a Greg Marshall system?

First year redshirt with KR adding weight and muscle; people would pay to see him play. "Ray, people will pay!"
