I'm guessing Darral is his nickname to help with the pronunciation quandary. At the very beginning of his high school highlight video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VX2voqWaC6I), the announcer says what sounds to me like "Darryl." But what's in a name? That which we call a baller by any other name would still rebound as sweet.
