If he chooses ASU, I won't be convinced his decision is entirely based on basketball.

It should not! Education, family, culture of school should rank right up there. If it's a toss up, climate is a pretty good tie breaker.

Per Paul Suellentrop, will be deciding very soon between WSU and Arizona State.

And man they got some good lookin' climate. :D

Another good tiebreaker/consideration is coach's history of development of juco bigs that leads to pro preparation here or overseas.

A little surprised WstateU hasn't had more to say about the attractiveness of their climate.

Let's hope Willis's choice works out better in the end than Paul Stovall's did. Oldsters will recall what I mean.

                Bikinis Babes or Basketball Powerhouse.....

I can understand the tough decision for him.

I remember a rather prominent player at WSU who went to a tournament where the Shox just got pounded. Someone asked how the trip went. He replied, "It was awesome. I ****ed an Arizona State Cheerleader". ASU has some attractions that WSU struggles to compete with. Of course, that was back in the day when the cheerleaders were actually the hotties, instead of the 80 pound acrobats.

This would just be too easy to be incredibly sophomoric.

IMHO, I think his decision rest on whether or not he can beat out any of our current studs for playing time.

I have no idea what his decision will hinge on. I do know that WSU offers a lot of positives for a player like Darrlyn and would be a good choice. He obviously realizes that or WSU would not be a finalist. Whether our many positives will sway him to become a Shocker remains to be seen. Let's hope so.

It's really a simple choice... Party school vs basketball school... If he truely wants to learn the game and how it's suppose to be played... Then Wichita state is his choice... If he just wants to get an education and a better social atmosphere per se... Then Arizona state is where he deserves to go....

True of all of us, but you're the one to actually come out and say so. Kudos, '72.

Can we stop making comments like this? There are a lot of things that go into a young man's decision to attend a particular university. Impugning one's character for not choosing WSU is petty. Plain and simple. If he doesn't choose WSU, then move on. Wish him good luck. Not everyone can attend the school we want them to.
