Wow, Shockda -- you sound like our old buddy mum. Hope you can hold your breath until November 2016. Personally, I'd turn blue before then.

Pardon me for getting a bit over-excited about the possibility of signing a kid that I think would be a GREAT get. I'll try to temper my enthusiasm just for you. As for turning blue, personally, I've always hated Smurfs, so let's try not to let that happen.

For interest of full disclosure, I am a graduate of Indiana University. Marshall is pretty good at scouting guards so this peaks my interest.

Markus played with my nephew and I've probably seen 90% of his games through his sophomore season. Outside of Marvin Bagley, he is the best player in the state. This may sound blasphemous, but may be the best scoring guard regardless of class in the country... at least arguably.

His size is going to be an issue. He's done growing. 5-11 is also generous. His freshman season his team went to the semi finals and got beat by Corona and then a lot of talent left and his sophomore season, he was pretty much all by himself. He did lead the country in scoring for sophomores at close to 34 per game. The kid can flat out fill it up when he has it going.

He is transferring to Findlay Prep for his Jr and Sr seasons and is playing AAU ball with the Las Vegas Prospects, which has a bunch of talent. His brother was a freshman at Central Arkansas this past year and put up 14-15 ppg, so it's an athletic family and a smart family.

Now, what will be interesting is this.... Markus can get a shot whenever he wants, but at his size, he is going to have to learn to be a true point and distribute. Right now, that's now his game. It will be interesting how he meshes at Findlay if he continues his volume shooting.

He could end up being a Yogi Ferrell clone if he tempers his scoring mindset.

Whatever you want to know, just ask.

Markus would easily be a 3-4 year kid. He was one of like 5 rising sophomores invited to team USA workouts last summer. The kid can go. He is already solid physically, especially in the legs. I'm not sure he will ever have Yogi Ferrell type guns, but who does?

Academics are of no concern. Very smart family. I will go back to my concerns...... He has 2 years at Findlay Prep to become a true legit PG instead of a shoot first point.

It would be nice to pair him with a larger guard for defensive purposes, even if the larger guard wasn't a great outside shooter, because you have a great 3 point shooter with Markus ala Yogi.

We would all take a new Yogi every 4 years, without question. IF Markus EVOLVES his game, you have an instant impact kid at the PG position. I would compare him to James Blackmon Jr. in that he is unstoppable scoring the ball in HS, but needs to tweak his game to be the best he can be at the major college level.
