Chane Behanan?

Told by a source that Western Kentucky, Gonzaga and Wichita State have all reached out to former Louisville forward Chane Behanan.

The thought crossed my mind, but I didn't think we would actually reach out.

For a moment, let's entertain the idea Behanan would transfer to WSU. I'd be willing to bet that whatever problem the guy has off the court would be 1) quickly dealt with by Marshall, and 2) our players to do a better job of keeping an eye on their brother.

Even so, unless he sat out all of next year, he'd only have half a season of eligibility.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this report is incorrect.

There are reports that he will claim hardship and ask the NCAA to make him immediately eligible. Not that it makes any sense, but the NCAA has done dumber things.

He doesn't strike me as the "student-athlete" type, so what's probably best for him and our APR is for him to play overseas.

That's not how eligibility works. It used to a long time ago, but not anymore. This is his full junior season, period, whether he plays 2nd semester or not. If he plays 2nd semester next season after sitting out this spring and next fall, that will be his full senior season.

Without a hardship/waiver (like Wessel got last year), if you play at all in an academic year it counts as a full season of eligibility.
