That has been known to happen.

    • He's going to take an official to Arizona State.

I wonder if Jans was the primary recruiter of Atwood and now he's moved on.

      • Let's try to be patient and not overreact. This might take a while.

WSU is recruiting both Atwood and ******* and maybe others as well.

Atwood has not verballed to anyone yet.

He has visited WSU on an unofficial visit.
He doesn't need to make an official visit as well.

        Please try to be patient.
National signing day is weeks away.

        • The Eagle says all of our schollies for next season are accounted for. So if we're recruiting ******* and Atwood, whose the odd man out?

            • Willie was supposed to visit WSU late in the season to catch a game, but never made it.

True indeed, Dan. If there's one thing Marshall and his staff have long since proven, it's that they do NOT put all their eggs in one basket. They're recruiting all the time, and no doubt far more than we know on here.

The coaching staff is recruiting them just in case someone leaves. Right now the odd man, or men, out are ******* and Atwood since it doesn't look like anyone is leaving. The only players currently on scholarship that could potentially leave would be Wessel or Green. Or else, someone could pay their own way.

Your being too kind, @1979Shocker:. @KC Shox: already fully understands the situation and knows the possible answers.

I don't see Wessel leaving. That only leaves Green. Otherwise, you have someone coming in that changes their mind and we already should have heard something about that by now. Or one of the two redshirts decides to leave. Or one of our starters decides to leave. Or someone changes to a walk-on.

                        I think that covers everything.

                        • @TheHawkHeaven: Willie Atwood @thelastchill be making his official visit to Iowa City tomorrow and he joins us on 1490 The Jock,... http://fb.me/6rdSegTKQ

Kxlq the jock on Tune in now

Iowa, Fla. State, Arizona State right now are the officials so far. Mentioned others but not WSU specifically. Iowa has been to visit his mom. Talked about Trey Dickerson, One of his best friends. Probably wont factor in his decision. Cant talk to Bruce Pearl until August. Wants to be an impact player right away. Relationship with coach as a juco player is very important, Getting crazy love from Hawkeye nation.

The other option is that someone is not expected to be academically eligible. See Earl Watson, whom we heard nothing about until August. Academic ineligibility is unlikely to be a current Shocker, but could be a new commitment. Bush is a JUCO guy, but I imagine he will be eligible based on his situation. No idea on Henderson and Hamilton. Kelly and Brown both went to prep school. It is unclear if they went to prep to gain academic eligibility or if they did so to be more D-I ready, but it would not surprise me if it was the former as both had D-I offers after their fourth year of high school.
