No way Evan leaves, he can play as many as 3 positions and lets not forget he was a starter last year before he got hurt. Pure speculation, but I think DG is the odd man. Can only play one position and appears to be a one-trick pony and the guys we are recruiting all seem to play the same position.

Absolute worst case, Evan is a Graham Hatch glue guy. Long term, better. Not going anywhere. Shame on anyone who would think so.

Not yet. There's the schollies for the seniors (Cle, KC, CJ, NW) plus DJ's scholly, and we're bringing in 5 guys--so no excess at this moment. But if we've offered Atwood, and the offer was after the five guys verballed/signed, then that seems to indicate the coaching staff feels the need to replace 6 scholarship players next year. I could be missing something, or maybe I don't understand something--which has happened once before and very well could happen one more time...

I understand what you're saying, and I appreciate where you're coming from. I usually take an extra second to think before I post in a thread about a recruit we've extended an offer to, while none are available at the time.

But this happens almost every year. And we usually end up signing an extra player.

If it's fair for HCGM to extend offers when none "publicly" exist, then it's fair for us to speculate on how it all might work out.

Any of the above or some combination may be true. What I don't care for is naming players. It isn't really necessary. It probably falls in the category of unsubstantiated rumors about players. Every time this comes up, we can lay out the same long list of possible reasons and/or short list of possible players. Most of the time, the right answer is contained somewhere in those lists. Sometimes, not.

I'm just not sure why we want to regurgitate it year after year.
