247Sports added WSU as an interested school along with Baylor, Florida State, LSU, Rutgers, St. Louis and Santa Clara. He has a Southern Mississippi offer according to a local article. He is playing for Plano, Texas ( West) this season. As a junior at Houston John Cooper he averaged 13.8 ppg and 2.7 apg. His father is Avery Johnson Sr, ex-NBA player and coach.

For a little guy, Papa Avery had an uncanny ability to take it to the basket and score around, through, and occasionally over the trees. As a long-time Spurs fan, I used to watch him and wonder to myself, "How did he just do that?" (Of course, for the next few years, I expect to be saying the same to myself about Fred VV.)Comment
