  • Michael Chandler '14 to Oregon

The Shockers are mentioned as one of the schools recruiting the former top 50 player. He has a visit scheduled to Arizona. This article mentions interest from Oregon, Memphis, Minnesota, WSU , East Carolina and Dayton. Tweets yesterday also indicate heavy interest from LSU and North Carolina State. He had academic problems and decommited from Louisville and Xavier. He signed with UCF but did not qualify in 2011, sitting out the 2011-12 year before going to Northwest Florida State for Steve Forbes. He had a slow start last year due to an injury but finished stronger.

Purdue also involved and maybe offered.

How brokers charge - hourly, flat fees, or commissions. Compare percentage-based pricing and know average costs by industry. Avoid overpaying with proper research.

That's my main concern with this one. The kid at John Logan intrigues me some.

Guys that are 7 foot ALWAYS have less grade trouble than guards.

I doubt if we are to late or at least.don't think so based on the available information. He did a summer visit to Purdue and perhaps was offered. But remember them going after Haas in August? I don't think his recruitment is in full gear yet. Unlike with Hurt, Forbes coached Chandler for a year. There's a better chance of a stronger relationship forming. Forbes also knows his academic progress or lack of.

On the negative side, we went went after Hurt strongly and Chandler might feel like he is second choice. But he didn't have that strong of freshman year, although some of that was due to injuries. I think most schools have taken a wait and see approach.

Do you remember why this guy is at a JUCO?

I had a class with a tall basketball player in juco that ended up playing at KU. He was no genius, but he passed geology.

Depends on who taught the Geology class. If it was Calvin Noah then props to him. My dad and Dr. Noah were friends (my dad was a geologist also) and I used to get all of my Junior High Science Fair mineral samples from Dr. Noah. I took his class and every time he had a question for the class he would look straight at me call me by name and ask me what I thought. That was the hardest "B" I ever worked for.
