I really hope it's pronounced "Maker".

I remember as a kid putting together a jigsaw puzzle of a Mooseheart campus building. Weird.

          That is weird.

First, I really enjoyed that read over Mooseheart and the kids from South Sudan. I followed a bit of the struggle of Sudan over the years as my church helped support missions work in and around that area. Their struggle for independence from an abusive Sudan gov't hasn't been easy and it hasn't brought peace either. A lot of work still needs to happen in Africa.

Back to basketball, I love some of these African kids who start late in their basketball. I know it can take time, but they're great people and the work ethic can't be doubted and the potential is there. These kids have had a few years playing in America to help them along and IL HS basketball as well as the summer games can really do a lot for kids like this to develop.

I'd love to see some video on Makur, but if there's an offer out, he obviously has some tools to work with. I'd also like to hear more about the 6'7" PG they mentioned. I'd have to go back to remember which one it was, but I'll have to see if I can find some info on him and the other kid. I hope they all get a chance to play and get an education and can in some ways, eventually help their people of South Sudan.

Did you notice Moosehead graduates with 3.O gpa or better get five years of college money equal to atteding an Illinois public university?

We already have a "maker" in Baker, but could always use another one.

That main link to highschoolcube has two early season full games to watch. If you watch the Grandview game you will also see Tyrone Taylor. Looks pretty raw so far early in the second quarter of that game. But keep in mind itwas one of his first games. I'm sure staff also saw him in AAU with Illinois elite.

And this one could add a major infusion of vowels to our roster.

We need.to keep an eye on Nyang also. Looking pretty good in the Grandview game. Taylor also looks real good.

Make that Mangisto Deng, the guard we need to keep an eye on. Last names are to similar.

                          A recent game of his:

"The 6-8 senior post player had 28 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and just missed a triple-double with nine blocked shots to lead the Red Ramblers to a 62-42 victory in Northeast Athletic Conference action."

For no particularly good reason at all, I somehow really liked everything I've seen and read about Makur (I'm not sure how it's really pronounced, but I know how I would say it). He has just been very intriguing. Where ever he lands, I will probably follow his college career. Good luck young man.
