The Shox are obviously going after a very large numberr of very talented HS post players. Most of them are high risk/high reward type players. The competition for them is fierce (high risk), but if you land one, you've got a 3 or 4-year player in the post (high reward).
I think the Shox can afford that because Forbes had some outstanding post players at NWFla. I'm getting the impression that Marshall is trying to move to players who can contribute for 3 years rather than the heavy reliance on JuCo's. May as well go for broke on recruiting the HS guys.
JuCo guys typically commit and sign during the spring signing period, so it looks like the Shox are going for nothing but the upper-tier HS post players. If Marshall lands some upper-tier HS post players, his reliance on JuCo's will be reduced.
This isn't to say that the JuCo guys aren't a high priority. I'm certain Marshall would be happy signing any of several JuCo posts this year. The appearance is that Marshall is making an attempt to move to players with more years of contribution than he can get out of JuCo's, but will continue signing top JuCo's if that's what he needs.
