The Big East part I can understand -- although he won't arrive until after Doug McDermott has left and Creighton has therefore started to deteriorate, thus knocking the league down a peg (that's what the folks in Omaha will think, anyway). And I know Xavier has had some success, although no Final Four appearances, unlike other schools I can think of. But I'd never heard that their facilities were noteworthy. Have I missed something?

Xavier has very nice facilities and sells out. I think right at 10K if I recall correctly. If thats where the kid wants to be good on him. Wish he would have gone to Loyola if not Wichita but if he helps X beat the bluejays on a regular basis thats fine to.

I'll never knock a kid for choosing Xavier. They may not have a Final Four, but they have numerous Elite Eights and Sweet Sixteens and are a quality program. And their arena has a nice reputation as well.

Xavier has had a really good recruiting year this year. Only mildly suprised he didn't go to Loyola, but Xavier was the next place I expected him to go. His comments about being close to home I thought had us on the outside looking in. Having said that, the fact that we were on his top 5 and got and official visit was definitely a positive for us anyway.

A Catholic kid went to a Catholic school. No big surprise.

Maybe even to a Catholic school that actually acts Catholic, which is no given these days.
