  • David Wacker '14 c 6-9 offered

The Shockers have apparently offered another from San Antonio for @Good News: to scout. IIRC Wacker is an AAU teammate to Ben Lammers. He has around a dozen offers from the likes of Boise State, Colorado, Oklahoma State, Nebraska and now, according to this article, WSU.

Wacker is a good name to follow. His dad Mike, also a big man, was the best player on a highly ranked Texas team years ago (Abe Lemons era, maybe) that unfortunately fell apart after Mike suffered a disastrous knee injury, leading him to a career as a coach instead. So David is a coach's son with an outstanding athletic pedigree -- what's not to like? Get after him, Shocks!

Couple more points about the Wackers.....

UT was undefeated and in the top 5 when Mike busted his knee. UT's subsequent record was below .500. Caused
Abe Lemmons, one of my all-time favorites to lose his job.

Daddy Jim was quite the football coach at TCU. His trademark phrase was UUUNNNNBBEEEEEELLLLEEEEIIIIVVVAAABLE
One of his teams played WVU in a New Year's Day bowl.

New Mexico, Nebraska and Boise State are likely to receive visits.

I should be ashamed as my inner 6th grade persona was wondering if some of these posts were starting out as punch lines...I suppose I'm the only one who stooped to such juvenile levels. :hopelessness:

Do we know how much he weighs? I'm always curious as to how much bulk these big guys have as we're recruiting them.

If he's anything like Mike, he'll be a load. Sounds like he has his father's size. I hope we get him!

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Roger that. And thanks for the mention to remind me - I try to keep up with everything but there are times where I don't read the recruiting board for a week.

Several of the kids I coached in middle school ended up playing for Alamo Heights, so it will be nice to get back their gym and see someone (Lammers) that I'm invested in.

Aside from Lammers, I've got AC Jr. and this guy on my list. Let me know if I need to add to it and I'll give a rundown if/when I get to a game.
