  • Ethan Telfair '14 pg 5-10 to NW FL. St.

Offers from WSU and Oklahoma and interest from Oklahoma State, UCLA, Baylor and Loyola Marymount for the former NY City baller. He will play next season at United Prep in Oklahoma City. Brother of NBA player Sebastian Telfair. He has recently been on the UCLA and Oklahoma State campus and will be at WSU tomorrow according to Bossi. I expect him to be at Saturday's elite camp.

MaxPreps News - The younger brother of NBA veteran Sebastian Telfair is finally generating his own buzz.

OU has also offered Lourawls Nairn from Sunrise Christian for 2014. He sounds like a carbon copy of Telfair. I am skeptical that they plan to sign both of them.

How many more point guards do we need?

I don't know but he is a very good player. Sometimes a team recruits a need and sometimes a team recruits the best players that they can to fill out their roster and gain depth. We have 4 Seniors so we could sign two post players (in addition to Brown who has committed) and still have another scholarship to fill.

We will hopefully always be point guard heavy - don't get caught without one...again. Good to have 1 SR, 1 JR, 1 FR/So, and 1 redshirt.

Telfair tells Alex Kline that he doesn't have official offers.

If he'll redshirt, let's take him.

                        What's an unofficial offer?
"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.

I know schools give conditional, non-committal offers in football. Not sure if the same is done in basketball.

Basically "here's an offer that you can't commit to without us agreeing to it because we're waiting to see what else happens."

I would say it is when a team stays in constant contact with you and wants you to come, but hasn't laid out the sales pitch yet. But, what do I know.
