Thought about that, then figured they weren't ready. I guess 6'11" goes a long ways. He's a great rebounder, but has some big holes in his game. 2-12 FT and 16 PFs in 5 tourney games and got off 1 shot in 30 minutes against the Shocks.

Smith could make a living over seas. Being 6'1" and a .421 FG and .333 from 3 isn't going to go far in the NBA. He'll find driving to the hole a lot harder and his high TO rate (for a SG) not do him any favors.

Interesting that this tweet identifies him as a guard rather than a forward. Does that imply the ability to handle it like a guard and defend smaller players?

I would think that it depends on the opinion of the evaluator and that will vary a lot between organizations (rivals, scout, Future 150, espn, etc.) and even within those organizations.

If you remember when Gene Smithson was at WSU, they recruited Steve Grayer and evaluated him as a 2 guard. Eddie Fogler evaluated him as a PF and moved him when he arrived. Grayer was about 6'7 or 6'8 and about 210 or 215 lbs. as a Senior (not big) but he had extremely long arms. He skill set was a much better match at PF than perimeter wing player. He was a nice rebounder with average handles and he was not a good outside shooter either but was pretty good from mid range. By the way, Grayer's build reminds me of Derail Green's build although Green may still be about 10-15 lbs. less depending on how much weight he has put on this year.
