Not sure if Darraja has been hurt or what, but he hasn't shown up in any box scores for awhile. Last night though he had 39 points in a 70-58 win over Maize. It was the most points by a Wichita-area player so far this season.

He has a little brother in 7th Grade who tore it up at Andover Central Middle. He scored 38 in the championship game.

For his sake, I hope he figures out how to play with his hair on fire this summer to raise his stock. He seems to have the tools to be a decent player. However, I saw him play a couple times this season, and he had no semblance of a motor. He didn't try to defend, didn't really move with any urgency away from the ball on offense, and didn't seem to exude positive energy that a good teammate and leader should. Like I said, he still has time to grow his game, but I wasn't impressed.

Not at all true. As was stated earlier, Parnell scored 29 points in his HS freshman debut. No puberty advantage there. Those familiar with the HS basketball scene in Wichita have known about Darraja for about a year now. Saw him play in showcase in the spring and showed some great stuff. Did good things against unsigned seniors. May be recruited as a combo guard, even if he continues to grow. Shows flashes as a passer and while he makes some flashy plays off the dribble, he needs to tighten up his handles a little bit.

In my opinion, this thread is kind of a waste of time. Will probably be a high-level, high-major prospect in my opinion.

Looking back at this post makes me laugh. Not only is it condescending to our program, his prognosis was abominably wrong.

I have a good idea who this was and would challenge him to come back and defend this nonsense.

Darraja has also been playing for the KC RUN GMC in the UAA. His numbers are respectable, although I haven't seen him gathering much interest from mid to high major D1 schools.
