There is always the grade thing. It's possible he is covering his bases in case one of them doesn't make grade. Anyway 3 true PGs isn't unusual for a quality program, is it?

Sounds to be like DJ and Rian are both very capable of being combos.

This verbal is great news. 3G likes signing solid guards that are versitle. Rian is quite the outside shooter. Dj is a top 150 player which is very cool. Notice now that even Mr. Baker is learning to play the point? It has been said that Cle can guard opponents playing the 1-through 5 position. He seemed to cause some havoc trapping some guards last night. Players develop into even better players here. The Shocker recruiting beat goes on and I am impressed with DJ.

I believe Coach Marshall has a penchant for long tall athletes. With Fred, Rian and DJ we have 3 around 6 foot. He must like them all alot.

It's becoming obvious that Marshall likes guards who can play point. Baker seems more likely to play SF than PG, but Marshall is teaching Baker how to play PG.

Marshall has said that he wants 3 PG's on the roster. Beyond that, he's teaching all the guards how to play point. That's going to give WSU the equivalent of 2 or 3 PG's on the floor in about any substitution pattern.

With a small lineup, there will be 3 players who can run the point. With a taller lineup, there will be 2 players who can run the point. That creates some possibilities that don't exist on other squads. I think all of Marshall's PG's are recruited to be combo guards because the other guard on the court with them is also a PG.

A PG in Marshall's system is a SG almost as often as he's a PG. Marshall has said that he likes multiple players on the court who can play point. I think that's how he can sign highly-rated points when there's a player in front of them on the squad.

This year appears to be WSU's "down year". The MVC is going to get really tired of hearing about Baker and VanVleet for the next 4 years. Throw in Holland and Bowles and the back court is covered with depth for years. Shaq and Watson appear to give us a front court. Wessell and White are here for 3 more years.

I see Gonzaga-like status on the horizon.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

We are still recruiting. I don't know about waiting on Shirmane. See my post coming up in a minute on taking a look at another guard.

Mum, as long as Marshall is here, we will NEVER be done recruiting.

The one-time UCF commit has found a new home, as he will take his talents to one of the premiere mid-majors in the country, Wichita State.

Since many are hopeful that brother follows brother, I couldn't help but notice #142 as well.

Nice! Two top 150 players…one to lead and one to play under the bucket.

I'd take #142, and speaking of brothers, lets grab #1 as well!
