He doesn't appear to have any other skills, except shoot, which is ok if used correctly.

I've said many times that I'd take a guy that can be an effective spot up shooter as long as he plays relatively smart and can manage a little D. Not everyone has to be the Uber athlete that does nearly everything. And these spot up guys create room for the more athletic and dynamic types.

Sub and I are usually on the same page but I'm still not sold here. If I believed this guy could sustain those numbers, he would be unselfish, see the court and play at a minimum average defense I'd be a buyer, however, I seriously doubt he could sustain those perimeter numbers just like TE couldn't sustain his. Personally, I want complete, smart unselfish players. IB's tolerance of selfish ball is what killed us this past season.

            I agree

You HAVE to have spot up shooters to spread the floor. If all you have is guys that can drive then defenses just sag off of you and clog the lanes.

Guys like this make it easier for guys like Porter....etc to get to the basket.

I don't know why people expect a good shooting guard (shooting 40+% from 3) on a bad team to have gaudy assist numbers.

There definitely is a role for him to play, but he doesn't appear to be able make other plays (lack of handles), play pressure defense, rebound, run the court, etc. 14 ppg at Siena doesn't translate to an uber effective AAC player. Brown should use him mainly to loosen up defenses, maybe 15-20 minutes a game.

we're used to having guys that can't drive and finish . At least this guy makes baskets.

Wait 'til IB and staff get ahold of him though....

It takes all shapes of pieces to make a puzzle. Having a guy who can spot up and knock down a three at this kids rate is a piece WSU needs that was lacking last season.

I thought someone said he has a couple extra inches?

I may have missed something…do we know he struggles to finish inside or to play tough D like some have indicated? Certainly looks to be a very good shooter which we obviously need. And has some size to boot. From what I witnessed it seems a lot easier to coach a guy up to defend than to coach him up to take good shots and make them.

Not sure about defense, but here are his stats at the rim from last year:

Yeah that is a pretty low %, especially considering his conf isn’t going to provide the challenges the AAC will. OTOH looks like he barely took one per game, so he may know his strengths ( ie outside). If he can play D he might be one to help spread the court.
