Awesome! I was just starting to wonder if we would really have much in the way of local walk ons. I have a soft spot for that sort of thing. We've already got a few Kansas boys but the more the merrier. He might be a little too good to be a walk on too, which falls right in line with this ridiculous team

I'm close to the situation. did not ask about if its a ron baker situation or just straight walk on. but if I were to bet, it'd be just a straight walk on. oh, and roll tide roll from this Bama/WSU fan. Too bad the WSU/Alabama IBA game fell through.Up your nose with a rubber hose - Barbarino

Wow. Interesting posts after the article. Says Chipman won't grant him a release? Give the kid an opportunity to chase his dream. I think it's interesting that we have two outstanding kids, not directly from Wichita, that think of playing at Wichita State as their dream in Ron Baker and Zach Bush. Meanwhile, we have a few kids that are hometown boys and have no loyalty to the Shox at all.
I remember AC choosing WSU mostly because he loved Wichita. Why don't our Wichita boys love Wichita State? But I'm glad we have quality kids in Baker and Zach that seem to love the program without even being from Wichita. It makes me root for them even more.

I'd call a Goddard kid a hometown kid. It's practically an extension of WichitaInfinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Not a Chipman backer (at all), but you would have sour grapes, too, if you just lost a 6'6" wing (and the best recruit in your incoming class) because he decided he wanted to be a D-I kid. I agree that he should be given his release, but he should have to appeal through the appropriate channels. After all, he did make a commitment and signed a binding LOI.

"Bush said he is unsure of his plans, but without the release he would have to pay his own way to school this year and be unable to play. He wouldn't list any schools he is looking at but there have been reports he is interested Wichita State, which is near Goddard.
'I'm still waiting to be released,' he said. 'I'm hoping to go D-I and possibly be a walk-on redshirt if I can at maybe a Missouri Valley school.'"
So if without a release he has to walk on (i.e., pay his own way) and can't play (i.e., redshirt), but he's hoping to be a "WALK-ON REDSHIRT" at a Missouri Valley school (i.e., WSU), what's the problem if he doesn't get released? He has to do what he was hoping to do anyway, right?
