Shockers have offered this 6'10" 247 lb. center out of Dayton, OH Link Year Preparatory School. Not much info on him out there. No other offers on Verbal Commits. Reclassified to 2022 from 2021 and is taking a prep year. Raw but has the size.

Egodotaye’s size is hard to find in Ohio. He moves pretty darn well, too. Knows where to be on defense and keeps his hands active. Plays hard. Scored on a couple put-backs but isn’t a kid who will creates baskets for himself otherwise, which is fine because of what he provides in rim protection and rebounding.

There's nothing wrong with a big man who rebounds and protects the rim if utilized properly. Not everyone needs to step out and be dangerous, as long as he develops a decent hook or something to at least be a bit of a threat on the block. Or just dunk every rebound you get to make up for it.

It'll be interesting to get a little more detail on this kid. Being the first offer for a kid who is in his 5th year of HS does raise some questions and concerns, but some kids also develop a little later. And I've said many times, if you're going to take a flyer on a kid that may need some time to develop, you do it on a big man since they're generally harder to find.
