Back to the Plan A, B and C. True Story:

I was on a non profit board with Bill Snyder, who graciously offered to host its annual meeting. I was in his planning room waiting for the meeting to start in his conference room. In the planning room was a whiteboard which had probably 100 names on it by position in order of what was obviously recruiting hierarchies. I asked an assistant who walked by if that was their wish list. He replied, “Thanks for pointing that out, no one outside the staff is supposed to see that”. Needless to say, we waited for the meeting to start in another room. I’m sure Coach Snyder would have been none too happy knowing someone else laid eyes on it.

He was intriguing to me, especially due to the fact he had four years of eligibility.

I think Thiam is going to be a productive D1 player. HCIB seems to have his priority set on a home run HS guard.

The portal has created a reason for open scholarships. It's not easy to keep 13 guys happy, so maybe keeping 9 guys happy and having 2 or 3 transfer will become the standard. That leaves taking chances on developing 2 or 3 players and leaving 1 or 2 scholarships open. Getting players that have been "developed" by other programs is always an option with the portal.
