The transfer activity reminds me somewhat of the NBA.

Looks like we are still on his radar:

RT @collegebbnews: Alvin Ellis is considering trips to Northwestern, Kansas State and Wichita State, according to his father.

Is he still planning to take those visits? If so, the verbal commitment may not mean much.

You're the info guy, trop, so do you have anything on which to base that? In football, it's not at all uncommon for people to commit to one school but continue to take visits, even though most coaches would prefer that they not do so.

It appears well known by Minnesota sources Ellis was a strong lean to them and what was expected happened. No other visits were scheduled and it was thought he would verbal during the visit. This should be classified as a strong verbal to Minnesota. There was a little hope given that he was still considering visits to others, including WSU before the visit, but that was probably just a fall back if the visit didn't go well. Tubby and his staff have been working Ellis very hard.

I don't know much about football recruiting, but taking visits to other schools after a verbal doesn't appear to me as being common place in basketball.
