Herve Aholode - PF - 2012 - 6'7'' 230lbs. who????

Ok, I keep tabs on Twitter when Wichita State is mentioned, and found something interesting yesterday. It looks to just be a tweet back and forth between friends, but I thought it was odd because we don't have a thread on the kid, and I've never heard of him.

His name is Herve Aholode, he's a PF, 6'7'' 230 lbs and he's from Benin, Africa and plays ball in the USA at Huntington Prep in WV. Anyway, here is the tweet.

I guess take it with a grain of salt, but it would be nice to get more info.

Some on this board will go ahead and say he'd be a waste of a 'ship because he's from Africa and probably can't step in as a FR and be a factor.

I saw it also and did a little research last night. His team has four other seniors that will be playing D-1 ball next year. Prep is rated as high as the number 4 team in the nation and coast to victory in most games. Herve is not the star of he team but certainly is a major contributor. I saw were he scored 10 points in some games. He's been named to at least one all-star tournament team in his two or three years in the U.S. In Africa he was playing as a 6-4 SG so perhaps he has some ball handling skills. I think he is receiving D-1 interest. I believe there is some indication that Charlotte has interest but I'm doing this from memory as I left my notes at work.

edit- Huntington Prep has at least two seniors signed so far, one to West Virginia and the other to Missouri. One other has interest from teams like Cleveland State. I got the info that 4 will be playing D-1 ball next year off a message board. They might or might not of been referring to Herve as one of those.

I mean how good can this guy really be? Trop did not ferret him out as he was drawing his first breath so how good can he really be. Seriously, it looks like he plays on a very high level team. If he is a 2013 that in itself is cool.

He must be planning on a prep year which makes more sense out of this. If you didn't read the article, Marshall (the school) is probably very interested.
