Pretty much on course there wusphlash. Carter's prep coach is Tyson Waterman who was Gregg Marshall's point guard at Winthrop for a couple of years. True Academy is now called Action Sports Academy.

In response to a question where he is going to school, Carter tweeted Wichita State.

Is this kid worth giving a scholarship or just another big body?

That makes more sense and we do need post players.

Does it mean that Coach Marshall placed him at Cowley?

Are we assuming that he is a qualifier and that he will maybe redshirt at Cowley?

I think that short little 2 minute video should be referenced for all time to remind people the difference between SUCCESSFUL D1 basketball, and everything else.

There is little to no movement, no organization, nothing but athleticism on a player by player basis. The WORST D1 team with half the talent would negate any physical advantage and the coach would exploit any of 100 weaknesses. There is SO much preparation....so much effort (watch him stand time and time again) and so much execution that must be taught and learned and put into motion before you can even think about being good. And all of that says nothing about rigors of attending a school likely 25 times more difficult than the "Sports Academy" he just left.

I am not knocking the young man at all....just trying to pound home the differences and the learning curve. We can all be excited about the talent 3G has put together this next year, but most don't have any idea how much work, from everyone, has yet to be done to even start thinking of a good team.

Of course all of this assumes the kids actually want to put in the work....not exactly a 100% certainty.
