  • Keyshawn Woods guard Class of 2014, Offered

Woods is a 6-2 high scoring SGG at Gaston Day in Gastonia, NC. He averaged over 21 ppg as a freshman. I previously posted in the misc. thread that our coaching staff has been in social networking contact.

Tweets now indicate WSU and Charlotte are recruiting. He recently took an unofficial to Clemson. Looks that a future big time recruit IMO.

Early's graduation in 2014 is the only scheduled vacancy, so we'll need to be picky with that spot.

Guys like this always get offered early by programs hoping to beat the high-profile programs to the punch. The big boys will come calling. The question is whether the athlete will remember who started courting him first.

Sophomore shooting guard Keyshawn Woods led the Charlotte, N.C., area in scoring this season, and quickly lived up to his advanced billing during the NCISAA 2A state tournament in Raleigh.

Gaston Day hadn't traveled to the Raleigh area during its non-conference slate, giving Woods a new audience to impress.

Woods exploded for 46 points in leading Gastonia (N.C.) Gaston Day to an 96-82 victory over Charlotte Victory Christian in the 2A quarterfinals Feb. 23. Woods went 14 of 18 from the field, made all three of his three-point field goal attempts, and knocked down 15 of 16 from the free-throw line. He also added 11 rebounds and three assists, while having four turnovers, in the victory.

Woods' previous career high was 40 points during his freshman season, and averaged around 27 points per game this year. To reach 46 points in his first state tournament game made the feat even more remarkable.
The kids a competitor and one heck of a shooter. I hope the staff can make a good impression on the kid as I expect his stock to really begin to rise.
