Gradey Dick is 6'4 guard/wing from Wichita Collegiate. Looks like he averaged close to 20 points per game as a freshman. Hard to find much information on but Eric Bossi knows his stuff.

My brother used to play baseball with his older brother. Crazy, I remember when Gradey was just a baby.
They whole family are tall and gangly athletes, and great people. Would be fun to see him become a big time recruit and stay in Wichita! The Assman

Obviously a long ways away, but both of the older brothers go to KU. I'm sure that would be the likely destination if he does become a high profile recruit.

He might be interested in having some conversations with other local players who have gone to KU. Perry Ellis was a potential early entrant into the NBA draft until he went to KU. Conner Frankamp may have some enlightening info. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Yeah, going to KU really killed the (checks notes) consensus second team All-American's career.
Perry's lack of an NBA career so far has literally nothing to do with KU and much more to do with the fact that he's a tweener and not a good fit for his position in the NBA.

Kel, Ellis was one of those guys who was a very good college player but, as you say, didn't have the combination of size and game to fit neatly into the NBA.
As to whether he'd have done better at WSU, who knows -- but he couldn't possibly have done much worse; and in the meantime he'd have played in the Final Four his very first Shocker season (as well as possibly facilitating at least one more trip thereafter).

But have better stats than our NBA guys.
The difference between the programs is that KU gets guys who are expected to do well in the NBA. Marshall gets guys who have no chance at getting to the NBA and gets them there. Marshall develops players. Self houses them for a year or two.
We will never know the future of Perry Ellis if he had attended WSU. We do know that Self didn't develop Ellis to the point that he could get much of a look from the NBA when he had that possibility coming out of high school. We do know that Marshall's bunch of (mostly) 2* and 3* players beat Self's group of mostly 4* and 5* players.
We know that Marshall develops players. We've seen little evidence that Self does the same. Using Baker as an example because we know what kind of a car he drove. Baker drove a white Hyundai. Billy Preston drove a tricked-out Mercedes registered in his grandmother's name, and we know that Adidas was funneling money to players (not their grandmothers) to get them to KU.
Marshall beat Self. Any more questions on which coach is better at developing players? The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
