  • Allerik Freeman Class of 2013

Rivals' 24 ranked player in the class of 2013, 6-4 SG Allerik Freeman visited Wichita State over the weekend. The Charlotte, North Carolina product also took in Kansas' late night activities and visited Kansas State while he was in Kansas. He has offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Florida, Georgetown, Memphis, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Villanova and Marquette. North Carolina has serious interest. Sounds like he is planning to take unofficials this year to all schools on his list.

Pretty cool, even if we were just a pit-stop. It's nice to be "window-shopped" by such a high profile player from 2013!

Wow, and he may not be the highest rated player to visit from the Class of 2013?

Freeman adds an offer from Arizona State. WSU is still not getting mentioned as a school he is considering. Perhaps he just watched the Shockers practice to pick up a few pointers LOL.

It's between KU and Villanova for Freeman.

Maybe he's wanting to go somewhere where he's got a legit shot at getting to a FF?

Did he back out from UCLA?

He did back out but no definite reason that I ran across, maybe just the coaching change. Will probably be back on the Duke and KU radars since they were on his earlier list but I have no idea how many scholarships are open for either.

Minnesota, Xavier and Baylor are the main ones involved according to RecruitScoop.

In the "grain of salt" department, for those who wonder how often a player signs with someone who wasn't "on his list," or at the top of his list, or whatever -- read back up to trop's posts #9 and 10.

Between KU and Villanova... oops, never mind; it's UCLA. And that's happened countless times -- not because trop is a poor researcher or reporter; he's great, digging up sources that no one else knows exist. It's because the info out there on recruits simply isn't that reliable (and, truth be told, because many of the recruits themselves probably don't know what they're going to do until they actually do it).
