While Ron and Sloan have a similar height and build, The elder was knocking down clutch shots from deep his junior year. The younger is an undersized PF. He needs to show a quick shot and range in the next year if he wants to play D-I.

Perhaps we could sign Sloan Baker, Xavier McDaniel Jr, and Antoine Carr Jr to the 2015 Shocker team. Talk about the All-Hype class.

      Is he a walkon candidate?

      • Seems like I read Sloan's best game is baseball.

Far and away iirc. Isn't their dad the baseball coach? Maybe we can get him like we got Johnny Coy, only get him to stick

The Bakers seem pretty level-headed. If Sloan were to come to WSU, and baseball is indeed his best game, he'd probably do exactly what Coy did -- I don't get the impression that Butler wants part-timers, and we know Marshall doesn't -- while being Ron's biggest fan.

            • Tomorrow (Wednesday, March 21st) is the final day to sign Letters of Intent for D-1 Basketball for the 2014-15 school year. Although, IIUC that does not preclude adding a player sans LOI by the start of the fall semester.

@tropicalshox: are you expecting any last minute signings? Anyone else?

              • Not during the signing period. Perhaps later.

Question is: do we have to make a deal with the devil to get him?

                      • Something interesting... anyone know anything about Ole Miss recruit Rauno Nurger, a 6'10 PF/C from Estonia that played for Sunrise Christian's prep team? The reason I ask is that he followed Shocker Life and GoShockers on Twitter, and may have been seen with Eric Hamilton in a freshmen summer course (Sociology?). He might be a walk-on that decided to transfer (maybe to play with Zach Brown).

                              • Well, we're past the LOI signing period, so what would he sign? A financial aid agreement? And if so, what sort of aid?

Or is there some other sort of document? Could well be; I have no idea of all the paperwork ins and outs, but enrollment in summer school, which is also being mentioned on here, isn't exactly what one normally thinks of as "signing."
