Interesting development here. All of WSU's offers for 2019 has been guards. Mitchell is a 6'9" post who is teammates with WSU verbal commit @noahfernandes_.

I don’t know who Scott May is, but this kid seems to play kinda soft for being such a big load. He needs to learn how to throw people around with that big booty. Old man style.
-
The only Scott May I know of played for Bobby Knight and the Indiana Hoosiers in the 70s

Oops. Showing my age. SEAN MAY. You are correct 1979.

Interesting offer. Gregg went to Connecticut yesterday to make the offer himself. Could be serious interest, but there are many big schools involved. Consensus Top 100 player, ranked #80 on ESPSN, #93 on Rivals, #98 on 247Sports. The schools most seriously involved are UConn, Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pitt, and Xavier. Crystal ball is currently saying Notre Dame with 3 out of 3 predictions. Tre and Noah Fernandes played on the same AAU team (Expressions Elite) and are now at the same prep school, so they should be very well acquainted. Tre averaged 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 2.1 assists, 2.9 turnovers per game on the Nike EYBL circuit this season.

I'm always curious to know what triggers this sort of interest and so late in the process. In this case, what role, if any, does Noah Fernandes play. Did he mention to 3G that he had a conversation with his teammate and said teammate expressed interest in the program after Noah raved about his treatment and observations of the facilities, staff, etc? It would seem to me that Gregg wouldn't make that trip unless he has some expectation there is mutual interest from such a high profile recruit.

Looks like a 6'9", 260 lb. stretch forward.
I like that his highlights showed him playing D and getting some assists.
He might play in college at 260, but I'd bet not before his Jr or Sr year. He's got a lot of skills that a lot of 6'9" guys don't have, but those guys are (sometimes) more athletic and have a better vertical. Either he has a limited vertical or he never felt the need to show any hops on a highlight video.
I'm confident that players currently on the roster are aware of the ongoing recruiting. Work ethic in practice isn't just competition for playing time, it's competition to stay on the roster. Even if getting on this guy this late doesn't have much of a chance of success, it does send the word to the current roster players that they need to work hard. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
