  • John Wright 6'2 PG 2019

This name might ring a bell for some. He was listed in the 2019 recruiting thread, but never had a thread created on him. John Wright is a 6'2 guard from Fayetteville, North Carolina. He appears to be a point guard the coaching staff is taking a very hard look at. They've been in contact for well over a year, and John attended Wichita State Elite camp last week and was labeled as one of the top performers.

Not only that, but he ended up winning the dunk contest at FVV's Fanfest in Rockford, Illinois tonight. Weird?

He plays for one of the best teams on the Nike EYBL and appears to play a reserve role. https://www.d1circuit.com/roster_players/24357520

Not very much information on John Wright. He is obviously an elite athlete but the coaching staffs evaluation on whether he is ready to lead a Top 25 team. We can’t afford to miss on this recruit.

It seems like his full name is John-Michael Wright.

Fayetteville Academy 2019 PG John Michael Wright was recently named the CRC Conference Player Of The Year as well as earning Tournament MVP honors. We got to speak with this young man following his 32 point game performance against Cape Fear Academy in the Semi-Finals, he has stepped up big time for his squad over the past few weeks and is a name to people should definitely remember.

I like the thing in his video around the :30 mark. A defender gives him a hard forearm and knocks him off his route. He used that as a way to open up shooting room for a jump shot.

If he went to WSU's elite camp and also to VanVleet's camp, that might indicate something. It doesn't seem like an "accident:" that a player from North carolina shows up in both Wichita and Rockford for camps.

You can easily tell from the digital photo that this guy is not 6'2". He's the same height as Fred.

As we've noted many times on here, photos can be deceiving for a variety of reasons. But I'm not going to complain about similarities to FVV anyway; the more the better, especially to the extent they exist inside.
