By the way, I do agree that another big man would help us immensely. We are terribly thin up front and any injury could lead to disaster.

Sounds like Indiana is making a pretty hard push for Green. He had a recent visit there and here is a Q&A about the visit:

Indiana welcomed 6-11, 230-pound LSU transfer Garrett Green to Bloomington this weekend for a visit and Inside the Hall caught up with the potential 2011-2012 roster addition for a Q & A on Saturday afternoon: On the visit to Bloomington: ...

Here are a couple recent tweets regarding Green and Indiana. One of them by Green himself:

      @GarrettGreen3
Garrett Green Just had an amazing trip to Indiana
Just spoke with Derrick Taylor, Garrett Green's HS coach. Said Green sent him a text saying "he had one of the best times ever." #IUBB
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

This is the article I got the original info from. I thought one of the posts after mine included the article, but turns out it didn't. Some Indiana fans figured he would commit during the visit. I've never felt there was good chance for him being a Shocker. If he doesn't go to Indiana, I expect he will go West.

I don't know if any of us us have see the new and hopefully improved Stutz since he has returned from the big man's camp.
I just can't see Garrett defending the 4.

I assume you are speaking about Stutz and when I watched the final two games of the NIT a couple of weeks back one thing that stood out to me was how his defensive play in those games was much better than in MVC play. If those two games are a sign of things to come this season I don't see an issue with him defending the 4.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

Something tells me he might be of use against Echenique and Carmichael in the pursuit of a Valley title, and against BCS conference big men in a tournament run.
Something tells me that 6"11" guys who were good enough to play in the SEC and available in July before the upcoming season are not standing on every street corner.

Then again I may be hearing all kinds of voices in my head. 8)
Your post reminds me of a Coach Fogler quote.

Coach Fogler had a Coaches Show. It was moderated by Mike Kennedy. A person called in and gave Coach Fogler what-for for not recruiting a 7-0 center. In a crusty tone, Coach Fogler replied, "Tell me, where a 7-0 center is available and I will go and sign him right away."

I don't think you are hearing voices.
Baylor apparently agrees with Eddy F. about big men...
Certain schools seem to attract big players in bunches. Baylor has a frontcourt with 6-10 Perry Jones, 6-11 J’Mison Morgan, 6-10 Anthony Jones and 6-9 Quincy Miller. And 7-0 Isaiah Austin, one of the top 2012 prospects, already has committed to join the Bears.

Lots of playing time looks available at San Diego State for Green.

I/m pretty skeptical of WSU getting this guy.

If a significant part of his decision is based on what's offered in grad school, Indiana would seem to be hard to beat. If it's based on available playing time, then SDSU would seem to have an edge.

He'd have to really want to work with WSU's coaches and players. Maybe the previous association would help, but this is looking like a tough sell for the coaching staff.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I thought I read that academics will be Green's primary factor. SDSU supposedly has a very good sports management graduate program. Throw in the available PT and being near his hometown, it will be tough for even Indiana to beat them out.

However, if he wants to experience winning in his final year of eligibility, WSU is the obvious choice, IMO.

For those asking about Garrett Green, he's visiting San Diego St today, probably still there. May stop at Wichita St on way back to LSU

He was still at SDSU on Monday.

Possible 2011 transfer. RT @insidethehall: Garrett Green told @EdwardLewisASR he'll have a decision on Friday, day he graduates from LSU.

For those of you that doubt things on Twitter, the same information about a decision on Friday was in AtzecSportsReport.com.

Can't imagine we are likely to get a commit while the team and staff are in Brazil. Makes me think Harris is unlikely.

Btw - hope the men are careful. You can do worse than food poisoning down there.

It was said this morning on Sports Daily that they were still recruiting the front court. I don't know the chances or rules at this time of year for getting Darnell Harris or others but if they have a chance to get him, the trip to Brazil won't hinder it.
