It's a hard call, especially without seeing these guy play. Carl Hall can certainly play some center for us. I'm also certain that EO will provide some time there also. I guess I'll go against the grain and perfer Darnell Harris. I think the guy would be a great 4 year addition for the Shockers. He can certainly give us PF time next year as needed. In my last post, I think I was getting my Christian Life players mixed up a little. Harris is probably a little more of a PF than Norris. And Harris is having a very promising AAU season. When we get 6-8 Cleanthorny Early, who is mobile enough to be a guard, wow!

But, I would be happy with either.

A 6'8" guy seems more logical, but the options continue to get fewer and fewer. Green makes much more sense than a 2 or a 3, no doubt.

I'd much prefer Harris. But at this point.....

I don't think WSU is weak in the front court - but there's not much depth. One injury to a front court player and the season is hanging on by a shoe string.

Marshall has been going fter PF types, which is where WSU lost the most from last year. So far that hasn't worked out. Going after a post player is another option.

So, maybe Hall gets hurt, or maybe his medical situation causes him to miss some games. Maybe Stutz has to get some time at PF, but that's better than leaving White as the only option there. If there's an extra 6'11" guy, then front court depth issues are resolved. Maybe not in the preferred manner, but they're still solved.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I'd prefer Harris ( by a little ) but would certainly be happy with Green.

It's obvious to me that our staff is not going to settle for some slug. Both of these recruits appear to be difference makers.

The Royals are looking for prospects that can help them compete in a few years. The Yankees are looking for players that can help them win today.

We ARE thin up front.....How can you lose Blair, Durley and Ellis and gain only a freshman who at 6'7" is talented but inexperienced and needs added strength....without being thinner if not thin. Surprise me EO...please.

Not disagreeing with your thoughts, but we also gained a 6'8" F/C Juco Transfer to go along with the 6'7" freshman.

Yep! You kinda forgot the star PF/C that we signed, you know the #4 JC player in the country? And just to be slightly disagreeable, we are thinner up front this year than we have been for a while. We are thin by top 25 standards, but about mid-pack (probably bottom half) by MVC standards. We are not weak in the front court, but short on experience and high on injury/foul trouble risk. We are VERY high on talent/celing at the 4/5, but haven't yet shown it on the court.

All-in-all, one additional player that can provide immediate minutes and play consistently makes this team look alot better.

You are right...Brain cramp on Carl Hall...and he and GS will make a fine starting duo...maybe the best in the Valley....But as has been said, foul trouble ans stamina will cause us problems and another big for this year would be a great addition

Am I mistaken? Do we not already have thirteen players on scholarship? Where do we come up with another schollie?

It would be very nice to add one more post player at this point. Even with an extra post we might see Stutz at the 4 or Hall at the 5 at some time this year given fouls and possible injuries. I don't know if any of us us have see the new and hopefully improved Stutz since he has returned from the big man's camp.

beni, it's been bantered about a lot during the summer, but we do in fact have a scholarship to give, if we can find a taker.

To my knowledge it hasn't been publicly addressed, but there has been much speculation that Armstead is paying his own way this year. If that is not the case, then something else has occurred that will allow a scholarship. The coaches have not said they are done recruiting and it is quite apparent based on all the big man offers that there is indeed a scholarship available to the right player.

My comment was made thinking that Armstead had received the last scholarship.
