Trust me, the guy can play. Lefty, smart, good character, staff was really bummed when we didn’t get him.

Haven’t got any vibes on whether we are pursuing but since some of you (who haven’t watched more than two minutes of FSU play during the season) seem convinced he is a stiff then I hope you are severely disappointed if it turns out we are in the mix.

Doesnt help us next year except on the scout team but lays the groundwork for depth the year after.

It's hard to know for sure what the mind set is of a kid who decides to transfer but it sounds like, despite starting 34 of 35 games for a team that made the Elite 8 and only loses two Seniors of note, despite starting, his minutes diminished in the post season. Walker's minutes diminished at the end of the season as back-up point guard Trent Forrest continued to improve. Walker averaged 17.5 minutes per game over the Seminoles’ NCAA tournament run despite starting all four games and had just 17 points, while Forrest averaged 27.5 with 38 points. It's quite possible Coach Hamilton told him that most likely Trent Forest would be the starter next year.

Obviously, kids want to play where they can play as much as possible and kids like to be starters as well. My concern would be does this indicate a player who might not be happy if he transfers and ends up being a backup or role player? Which might be possible depending on who else we bring in and Landry's ulitmate status. Not sure CJ would be happy being a guy who provides depth. He could do that at Florida State. If his is looking to go somewhere they will guarantee him a starting role not sure 3G would accomadate that but I suppose he might depending on what his options are. And who knows this may not have anything to do with why he is leaving FSU. 3G will have to sort through those things.

I never said he was a stiff. I said his stats are underwhelming for a PG. Its not exactly a small sample size either.

Maybe he's a guy that will flourish in our system, I have no idea. If the staff decides they want him, that'll be good enough for me.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.
