I don't know what his main goal is for the remaining year. I am sure he just wants to play as much as possible. Which team gives him the best chances? I'll have to look and see what Marquette and Xavier have in the front court this year.

If Wichita State is going to add a basketball player, we will almost certainly find out soon. Forward Andre Walker, a transfer from Vanderbilt, visited last week. In order to be eligible to play during WSU’s exhibition trip to Brazil, a player must be enrolled in summer school by July 5.

            • When a player visits here and then leaves without committing and visits another school, I tend to think we are not going to get him.

That's a negative way of looking at things. Many kids take all their visits and then decide. And you can't blame them for that as I'd rather a kid be sure than to think this is the place only to feel it's not right after a year or so. That's not an issue with this one as he only has a year left, but generally speaking I have no worries.

I think the situation is a bit different on this player. He's a man. He's going to enroll into a graduate program, and he'll play one year. So no mater which school he picks, he'll be playing one year, and be at the school for 2 years. I think playing time, and the ability to win are big factors for him, but I also think you definitely have to look at the school's ability to provide him an education in a program he wants. He knows he's not going to the NBA, and if he's getting a masters, it sounds like he probably plans to use it, rather than go play pro ball in euroland. So I wouldn't be surprised if he spent his time making this decision. But like someone said, you must be enrolled by July 5th to play in Brazil, and I think if we don't know by then, we can count him off the list.

Is the "enroll by July 5th" something that he would know about? You would think someone would let him know as part of his decision process.

I'm sure he knows. Fans might not know by that time, as announcements are often a few days later.

Was nothing to it. Just a KU fan that didn't keep up to date on the news.

                          • I'd pay attention to the word out of Marquette today, or Sully for that matter.

Actually, I suspect 'Trop will know before any of us, but somehow, someway, today will be the day of reckoning. Not that it's important that WE know, but someone will know what's going on before the fireworks start.

Andre, if you happen to be paying attention, and haven't decided, one last plea.

Go where you are loved. We wish you the best no matter where you decide to play, but know that if you chose WSU, ShockerNation will embrace you like no other, and you will be an integral component in what could be a very special season.
