I really don't want to go into next season with our only 2 options at the 4, being guys that have never played D-1 basketball.

Particularly if one of those two guys (Hall) ends up needing to play some 5.

The Valley seems to always have several undersized guys that play PF that give people problems who don't have a PF who can guard the perimeter. With the loss of Aaron and Gabe, this is certainly a big question mark for our team.

Seems like a perfect fit this late in the game. Most of the time teams end up taking a two or four year player that isn't up to standard. This players will allow Marshall and his new coaches to continue to target four year playes in 2012 while filling the immediate void.

With my vast ;-) experience with basketball, I point out the following:: It usually takes at least half a season (or more) to learn Marshall's system well enough to really contribute -- anyone see this as a problem with a one-year wonder? Would it be worth using up a scholarship for less than half a season? I suppose you could look at it that as long as that half season contributes to our going to and moving up in the Dance, then I have answered my own question. I am grateful that the coaching staff is there to make that call.

My biggest worry is that GS will be in foul trouble much of the time due to increased playing time...Carl Hall would then have to play the 5 and for all we know he may have trouble avoiding fouls on occasion. After that come inexperienced freshmen so I would love to bring in an experienced big man to compete with the newbies

with his experience in D1, I would expect his learning curve and work ethic to be better than any of the newcomers. For a 1 year bandaid, this is probably a pretty good option.

The adjustment to D-1 ball probably factors more into that half-season than learning Marshall's system does. That will not factor into the equation for this guy.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Especially if the scholarship would end up not being used anyway.

It's been an interesting Spring recruiting season with Goff, Dewitt and Jennings, and of course another rumor or two. As for me, I'm ready to put a wrap on this with Walker!

Walker's major at Vanderbilt was Human and Organizational Development. What WSU graduate program would interest him?

Probably Hugo Wall School of Urban and Public Affairs

Lots of options once you're in that program.

Probably, Human Resources Management would be the closest to his previous major.

Kansas just missed out on DeAndre Daniels who picked UCONN. That increases their need for Walker.
