I have to tell this story.

I used to play pickup games with a 6'7" jumping jack who claimed he had a scholarship offer from WSU. He claimed he couldn't afford the scholarship. He was working and going to school on loans, which was economically better than a scholarship.

I don't know if I believed him, but I played with the scholarship players a bit and this guy seemed legit compared to the team.

One day in a pickup game I learned about a matchup zone. I was always the PG (5'8" will do that). I left my defender stumbling over his jock strap. I dribbled past him far enough that I knew he couldn't block me from behind. Then I went up for the mid-range pull-up jumper.

That's the only shot I've seen in my life that got blocked by an armpit.

I was about 12' from the basket on the right side just outside the key when I went up. That was the first time I looked for the basket - didn't want to give it away that I was going for the shot.

All I saw was an armpit. The 6'7" guy had switched to me in the matchup zone. I was already in the air. I took a look at shooting around him, but couldn't do it. The best I could do was shoot it into his armpit and hope I had a story to tell.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I don't know much about his past but he is 25 years old.
He will not be at Chipola. Going to Moberly instead. If we are interested, it probably doesn't make much difference.

Aishon White is being recruited by WSU, Eastern Kentucky, Texas Southern, Arkansas State, Detroit and UAB. Eastern Kentucky offered and he is visiting them on Friday. The article call him a 6-3 combo guard.

Chipola's 2011-12 roster is rounded out with the additions of:

Jason Carter- 6-9 C/PF transfer from Alabama. He was a Rivals 4 star.

P.J. Lockridge- 6-6 SF transfer from Long Island.

Earl Watson 6-7 PF who has a Shocker offer and his own thread.

10/6 update- Kenny Williams, mentioned earlier in this thread has verballed to UTEP. He is playing this year at Moberly instead of Chipola.

Chiploa vs. Chattanooga State video. I have Earl Watson down for 10 points in the blowout win that was played with a running clock. Earl is #33 in black.

Watched the vid. I also had Earl down for 10 points, although they only gave one FT for all shooting fouls.

He was 4 for 7 from the field with 7 boards and 2 for 2 from the line.

Not too much emphasis on defense, but that's not surprising given the event.

He enters the game at 9:44 and finishes the first half.

Then he enters at the 40:37 mark of the second half and finishes the game.

Especially notable were a post moves at 14:40 and 17:03, the latter being a nice drop step dunk in the half court.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Yeah, that drop step dunk will get Koch loud! He posted his man up on offense quite a bit (I only watched the first half). Suprisingly, the guards actually fed the post quite often.

                      Thanks for the Vid Trop!
