  • Sunrise-Hutch Trinity

A guy told me this morning he was watching a high school tournament in McPherson. The Hutch Trinity team had a half-dozen very tall, black kids on the bench in street clothes. He asked one of the Trinity parents about the situation and was told they had recently transferred in from Sunrise. Said the Sunrise thing was unraveling as they were in trouble for something. Anybody know anything?

I'm going speculate here real quick. I have no inside information, this is just my opinion. The Elite team brought in A LOT of guys this year. They must've had 10-15 D1 quality players on the Elite roster alone this season. Maybe those that weren't playing decided to ditch out and go elsewhere? I don't know. I didn't see any feasible way they would be able to get minutes for all of those players.

Isaiah Chandler was nowhere to be seen for the Prep team this weekend. Chance Moore was playing though, so that would make one think there isn't a huge issue if one of the WSU commits is still there.

The next problem will be when Hutch Trinity catholic parents/students who live close to Hutch and pay are unhappy because their students aren't getting court time. :)

But Trinity is still a normal 4 yr school that plays under KSHSAA rules. They have to be undergrad to transfer. The elite team is post grad, correct?

Well, this morning my "source" said he was mistaken, that it was not Sunrise, but instead was Word of Life.
