Did we let this one get away?

I think it was the feelingthat he wanted to come to WSU, however, we must not have wanted him

Marshall and staff have been recruiting very mobile centers for some time. I'm not sure AD fit that mold unfortunately.

Agreed WU Fan. I'm a Houstonian and I felt WSU would recruit Durley, and I was a little surprised until I checked again on the internet and found he actually graded out lower than Uwadwae.

I believe Henry is currently shown on Rivals as and 85 score and Durley scored out at 83. I actually think we got the better guy.
The Republicans ... are having a hard time getting their members to act as a unit instead of like a bunch of six-year-olds playing anarchist soccer; three teams, two goals, you decide.

No way we got the better guy,I mean we can tell ourselves that, but Aaron Durley is gonna be a beast,he's a classic late bloomer just like his cousin. Not to take anything away from Henry because Kerry R. will get them both ready, I think Aaron just have more to work with and his height and weight is not exaggerated.

                  Both

Well, despite shocker heights's obvious lack of credibility -- how on earth can anyone take seriously a poster who quotes Rachel Maddow? -- I think he's stumbled into the right answer.

Personally, I'd like to have both Uwadiae and Durley -- but even Marshall and his guys can only convince so many players to come, given 13 scholarships to work with. So I'll wish Durley well, hope he decides to go prep and come to WSU in 2013, and in the meantime trust the coaches to have judged correctly.

I think part of the issue with Durley was his size. And I'll catch flak for this, but it's not really my personal opinion or style, but my observation of the way we recruit. When was the last time we recruit a big heavy for down low under Marshall? I can't remember him ever recruiting a big heavy. His style of play is a faster paced game than most, and I wonder if that had a part in not pursuing Durley. He'll be a beast, but he doesn't really fit the system Marshall runs. Just my observation.

Rachel Maddow? How did she enter the conversation?

                      Is Aaron a conservative?

I agree 100%. Based on what HCGM is doing, I think the #50 center in the country, being a lean 6-10 athlete, will have more success at WSU than say the #25 center, being a big-bodied bruiser, Due simply to the style of play. I'm not saying that hypothetical #50 is better than hypothetical #25, just that the system will better accentuate the athletes talents rather that those that an enforcer might possess.

I don't know. Remember Big Baby (LSU), he did pretty good against us.

The argument that was raised was not whether those type of players would be successful (against us or anyone else for that matter), but rather would they be successful in our system.

How a WSU opponent did within their system is irrelevant to the question of how they would do in our system.
