  • Ron Baker to WSU as 4 for 5

A source is telling me that WSU has serious interest in Scott City's Ron Baker. He is a 6-3 SG who made the Eagle's all-state 1st team. He has known offers from South Dakota State and Arkansas-Little Rock.

I can't remember if my brother officiated one of his state games or just watched it, but he was pretty impressed and the kid can shoot. I don't remember much else off the top of my head and will have to ask him about his quickness.

People say he's quick. Iowa State has been looking at him. They have perhaps offered a walk on position to him.

Invited walk on with some academic scholarship potential would be my educated guess.

looks like 40% from 3pt land (58/145) and 79% free throws. So obviously he can shoot it a little. from the eagle all state article, it reads as though he is quite athletic as the coach says he is great on the defensive end.

I just remember my brother saying he could shoot from anywhere inside of half court. Or something similar. The kid can definitely shoot and has range.

I may have to rethink the walk on prediction.

Getting some info the kid is for real and a big time athlete.

Wow, talk about flying under the radar.

Just to piggy back on my above post, the Kitties have a three page thread on him:

                and

An updated version to the previous dunks. I added a little slow motion to so you could experience them a little better. Three dunks in one game are pretty ...

Perfect fit for a RS freshman if TRich doesn't return. On the other hand, after next year we will have no one with any real experience at the 2-3 in 2012 with the graduation of Kyles, Murry, and Smith.

That's one reason I hope Wessel can play and contribute some next year.

On Shocker chat today, Sullentrop said he is a back burner for WSU. He talked to his coach during the NIT.
