WSU leads by a scant 1 shot with 18 holes left to decide the MVC Championships.

Dustin Garza sits in a surprising 2nd place, 1 behind leader Patrick Scheil of SIU. Scheil leads the Salukis into the second spot behind WSU.

Illinois State is in 3rd, 17 shots back.

SIU was picked 8th so the showing so far is astonishing.

Prairie Dunes is showing its teeth today in the Kansas wind.

Only a handful of players managed to break 80.

The Shockers lead by 10 shots right now. All of the players from WSU, SIU and ISU(R) still have between 2-4 holes left, but at this point WSU is at +77, SIU is at +87 and ISU(R) is at +101. Unless they have a monumental collapse WSU should win the MVC Title.

Garza has a one shot lead over Engell for the individual title. Garza is thru 14 and Engell is thru 16.

The Shockers end up winning by 11 shots over SIU to take the MVC Championship. Dustin Garza shot an even par 70 today to win the individual title by 4 shots over Anders Engell of WSU and Brad Reierson of Drake. Congrats to Dustin and the WSU team!!!

Congrats to the Shocks and to Garza, although the real winner may have been Prairie Dunes (helped by the elements).

I believe Dustin's 70 today was the only par matching round of the tournament.

Prairie Dunes does not give up below par rounds easily and that is especially true when the wind is gusting.

Nevertheless everyone plays the same course and the Shocks are the champs again. I'm sure all the participants loved playing Prairie Dunes.
