Highlights from the Nebraska Quad ...

    Scores: #11 Nebraska 225, Northern Iowa 149, WSU 139, K-State 127.

Overall Nebraska was dominant as expected on the men's side but the Shockers gave UNI a good tussle for 2nd, hopefully a preview to a competitive MVC meet in 2 weeks. WSU's top 2 javelin throwers (Trudo and Mazanec) didn't compete to rest some minor injuries. Without these 2 guys the throwers struggled.

Jumps - Ian Linstrom with a season best 23-11 LJ and went 48-2 in the TJ for a nice meet. Beau Morris no heighted the PV which was disappointing. Freshman Shepherd had a pr in the TJ of 46-1. Not spectacular in the jumps but solid.

Distance - Newcomers Marius Sava looks to be a factor in the steeplechase, easily winning in 9:22. Solid runs for Forward and Kendrick in the 1500 (3:57, 3:59). Jake Steckleing continues his great season with a 1:51 800 in a stacked field. Scott Reed and Kendrick went 1-2 in a non-competitive 5k field against some Nebraska runners.

Sprints - Relays ran season bests of 40.9 in the 4x1 and 3:11 in the 4x4. Jared Foley keeps inching up in the 200 running 21.55, he was MVC Champ indoors. Freshman Dylan Hartnett with a nice 48.08 in the 400 looks to be in the mix in 2 weeks. Another freshman Todd McKown with a nice hurdle double of 14.63 and 53.99, he's gonna be a good one for years to come. MVC hurdle champ Chris Allen is looking solid after battling an injury and ran 14.68 right behind McKown.

Overall I'd say the men had an ok meet and still only lost by 10 pts to UNI, if they can have a good meet in 2 weeks maybe they can challenge perennial champs UNI.
