Keep an eye on Eddie McClain this summer and next year when he competes for Wichita State University.



Cougars track coach Monroe Anthony said McClain has yet to even reach his ceiling. With good coaching at the college level, he said McClain can be a force. The Bonner Springs graduate won the 5A state title in the high jump this spring.

The biggest attribute?

His work ethic.



“His coach at Wichita State is going to love him,” Anthony said.

The previews are now and the real thing is just a few weeks—or months—away.

It's great to see WSU getting athletes like Eddie McClain from NE KS and not having them go to KU or KSU. I think after a year or two of coaching from Rainbolt - this kid will be a regular at the national meet.

It's exciting to see WSU get so many good male track athletes to come this year. Hopefully in a year or two they will be winning MVC titles on a regular basis like the women.

We do have the largest stadium in the nation dedicated to soley track! :posterwsu:
